Child and Parent Counseling
The focus is on improving the relationship between and caregiver(s) to support the child feeling safe in the relationship and begin to trust their parent. The goal of treatment is to help the child learn to identify and regulate their emotions developing healthy coping skills replacing the use of unpredictable, chaotic, and/or aggressive behaviors.
If there is anything that we wish to change in the child, we should first examine it and see whether it is not something that could better be changed in ourselves.
